#289 - A Regular Day

Today feels like the first "regular" day we have had in a long, long time. Yesterday I talked about routine coming and today felt like we experienced it a bit.

We did some baking....
pumpkin muffins (I'm thankful our stores finally have canned pumpkin!)

and blackberry pie (from blackberries we picked last month)

We even took time to sit on the couch and read some books. We haven't done this for about a month.
And now the girls are napping....so many things to be thankful for!

When I got groceries a few days ago and saw that they actually had canned pumpkin on the shelves, I bought two huge cans, even though I don't have plans on making anything immediately. I just wanted to get them before everyone else started looking for it, since they still didn't have that much. I love pumpkin desserts. I have a great pumpkin cookie recipe with maple caramel icing that a friend gave me. I can't wait to make them again!

What a lovely, cosy day! I agree, pumpkin anything is wonderful this time of year. I made pumpkin bread the other day and the house smelled wonderful! It's so much fun to bake with kids :-).

I bought 6 cans of pumpkin(our limit) in Kroger. Hopefully you will see more. It was a very good year for pumpkins and canning factory has been very busy.
I can't wait to make the pumpkin cookies with m&ms and chocolate chips. My favorite!!!!!

You have some ADORABLE bakers! :)
I always buy extra cans of pumpkin in November, to keep until the following Autumn. My desire to bake pumpkin-y things always seems to come before the stores stock their Fall fare.
