I am praising the Lord today, because I received word from Compassion that Bildad is safe. Bildad is a nursing student, registered in Compassion's Leadership Development Program. Kevin and I were in the process of sponsoring her when the earthquake struck. Because she attends university in Port-au-Prince, we were told to hold off on the sponsorship until her condition could be determined.
I am so thankful that God spared her life and her home. I'm sure she is grieving in ways we cannot imagine as she is surrounded by devastation and loss.
I am thankful we can now become her sponsors and offer her hope and encouragement through prayers and letters.
